Ways the TBB Girls are combating Mental Health in their own lives.

Hey everyone! It's your girl Akunna and I am so blessed to have you back on the TBB Blog today! This blog post is a collaborative one because some of our TBB girls helped me put this blog post together for you guys. In this blog post, the TBB girls and I are going to briefly talk about what we struggle with and how we are finding ways to calm ourselves and not let our personal mental health struggles define us.

If you haven't read the "Importance of Mental Health" Blog post, I talked about my experience with anxiety during this quarantine, on how I founded out that I have anxiety, how I founded ways to calm myself, and tips for you all to use if you feel stuck on combating your mental health struggles.

I will start off and give a brief explanation of my mental health struggle and how I am finding new ways to combating it, then I will give it to the TBB girls.

Akunna - Anxiety

I have always felt overwhelmed about school but when I was stuck at home I was kinda forced in a way to evaluate my thoughts which I normally don’t do. I felt the most insecure I have ever felt in my life, my friend group sized down but sized up at the same time, I was just overall confused with my emotions and I didn’t know where to go to so I had to find ways to take care of myself that didn’t involve buying something. So one day I wanted to leave my house and I went for a 2-hour walk, the wind, the sun, the birds just grounded me and made me walk for hours without realizing and that's when I discovered that nature is the most effective way for me to calm down and slow down my thoughts, so if it's either walking, eating or standing outdoors I feel so much better and I am grateful that I found this as a way to relax.

Sissy - Anxiety

Music has been one of the most powerful tools of relaxation in my journey with anxiety. There’s this special song, in particular, that’s called Marconi Union that is proven to decrease anxiety. I highly recommend listening to relaxing music, and better yet, motivational music!

Lauron - Feeling unproductive

I had a period where I struggled with feeling unproductive and unmotivated. During that period, I remembered that everyone needs a break every so often. Music helped me greatly with finding my way back to my ambitious goals!

Bella - Anxiety and Loneliness

I have dealt with mental health issues for the last 7 years. Last year (my junior year), I was in a school shooting which severely added to my anxiety and loneliness. however, though this tragic event has left a scar on my soul forever, I try to remain strong for my friends, school, and community.

Paola - Overworking yourself

Mental health is one of the most important things to ever check on when you are super busy. When I started my first business I never gave myself breaks or days off which really messed with my mental health. I would get stressed, anxiety and so much more. If you have a business or are always super busy take a BREAK!

Paula - Anxiety

“During the Pandemic, my mental health took a turn. Since I was at home all of the time, in my room, I started panicking and remembered all that I’ve been through in my life. I’ve now learned how to stay positive, even during bad days. It’s ok to cry, it’s ok to have a bad day. No one said it’s wrong to have a bad day, but you need to do stuff that helps you have, at least, a somewhat better day.”

I hope you all enjoyed this week's blog post, remember that mental health is not suppose to be talked about in a month but remember that we should have conversations with people we love when it comes to what's going on inside. If you want to talk to us please dm us @teenbossbabes and we will love to help.
